Susan Egbert has been surrounded by art her entire life.
Her father, William Hill, was a well known landscape artist in upstate New York and she began showing her work with him at the age of 12. She received a BA in fine art from the New York State University at Oswego and has been a freelance artist ever since.
While Susan is most known for acrylic and acrylic batik landscapes, she also enjoys working with more abstracted images and collage. She has won numerous awards in shows all over Virginia and the Southeast. Her family has lived in the Roanoke Valley for more than 30 years now and as an artist, she draws great influence from the beauty of nature in Southwestern Virginia and beyond. Susan is currently exhibiting in the artist co-op Left of Center Art Space located at 24 Campbell Ave SW. Her work can also be seen at the Loft Gallery/Black Dog Salvage in Roanoke, VA and Cabell Gallery in Lexington, VA.
